Oh Zach, this is mild compared to what goes on in some churches and is passed off as "the Holy Ghost"

unfortunately, this is a bit tame compared to what some people call the holy spirit. if it affects you, it must be the spirit...right? please God, do something, anything to show these people the centrality of love, and discipleshi, not self and dancing.

Well... what to say.

I would say that what is probably happening is some good old fashioned stretching and blood circulation. One can easily cure headaches and various arm and joint ailments, temporarily, with simple and good movement. You start to feel better and the mind tells you, wow! I feel better, that's the Holy Spirit! When more often than not the initial effect and primary operation of the Holy Spirit is a furious and all-consuming blinding love that will shines a light on our sin because He is Holy and we are not.

This is upsetting to watch because the main problem with the ideology behind this kind of Holy Spiritism is that the we are "BODY" that has a spirt, when in reality, as Lewis states it, we are a spirit that has a body. And churches should be very careful of what they post on the net that goes on in their church.

It is our Spirit that needs healing first and things go on in the Spirit all the time regardless of the goosebumps and good stretches and so forth. The Holy Spirit will never equal the hokey pokey or raising hands or rolling around or anything necessarily physical, though those may be things you might do to express certain feelings you are having.

Also, physical miracles achieved by the Holy Spirit are very often very simple and done by simple means. "Get up and walk"

All that said, Jesus did spit on some mud and rub it on the blind man's eyes; He did so to aid this man's faith as it takes both. So, I suppose if the Holy hokey pokey is what someone needs to believe... then God can do anything. Just be wary of broadcasting it lest you distort the Good and cause other believers to stumble, (doubt their faith and ridicule the Holy Spirit) which I'm sure this will do.
