Wayne Grudem notes:
When we speak of God's existence"before" the creation of the world, we should not think of God as existing in an unending extension of time. Rather, God's eternity means that he has a different kind of existence, an existence without the passage of time, a kind of existence that is difficult for us even to imagine. (See Job 36:26; Ps. 90:2,4; John 8:58; 2 Pet. 3:8; Rev1:8) The fact that God created time reminds us of his Lordship over it and our obligation to use it for his glory.

I really should save up my pennies to buy this book. The last sentence of that passage, alone, blows my mind... God created time-- incredible! I can barely wrap my mind around the concept! Also, the fact of God's Lordship over time meaning that we have an obligation to use it wisely is personally very convicting to me. It partially explains why I don't comment on blogs as much as I used to... though I obviously haven't stopped completely! I wonder if DSC could get Wayne Grudem for a future Clarus conference?
