Cessationists vs. Charismatics

Bob Kauflin does a great job keeping the main thing the main thing in his reflection upon this issue.

For what it is worth, a few comments about the article: Mr. Kauflin stated:

"but have no awareness that God is actually present with them to work in, through, and among them. There is no expectation as the church gathers, and no realization that God is truly present with them."

My response: Huh? No awareness that God is actually present? I have all the expectation in the world that God will be amidst our worship, even in our sterile little baptist church where I haven't seen the 'gifts' that Mr. Kauflin describes. Experientalism, I guess, is what REALLY matters.

Mr. Kauflin states: "However, it’s not crucial to me that you speak in tongues or believe in the gift of prophecy."

My response: Now I'm being a little facetious, but why is there so much diahrea of the mouth these days? Why should I care whether it is crucial to Mr. Kauflin or not? Is it no longer acceptable to have an unexpressed thought?

Tuck,

Thanks for the thoughts. You are true controversialist. Love it. Keep it up. I have no response for you at this time. I think you are too deep for me.
