Quotes from Together for the Gospel

Doug Wolter:
It’s been said that books don’t change people, paragraphs do.  Well, the same is true at conferences like T4G.  You take in so much in such a short time.  And if you’re like me an entire message is hard to remember (especially if it’s given by such incredible thinkers like Dever, Sproul, Piper, Mohler, etc.).  But one line can grip you.  One line can stick with you.  Here are some that stuck with me:

“Jesus’ evangelism plan is the community of faith living out the gospel.”  ~ Mark Dever

“The church is multi-ethnical, not multi-cultural.” ~ Thabiti Anyabwile

“Sow the gospel … go to sleep … and it will grow [as God desires].” ~ John MacArthur

“[On teaching simply ...] you can feed a child a steak, but if you love him you’ll cut it into little pieces.” ~ Josh Harris

“[I commend to you] a lifelong meditation on the 4 Gospels to more fully see and savor the glories of the Savior and fellowship with him.” ~ John Piper

“The power is not in you, the power is under the hood [in the gospel]!” ~ C.J. Mahaney

“Prepare your people for suffering.” ~ Mahaney with Matt Chandler

Pics from Day Two at T4G - Images of Louisville

Pics from Day One at T4G

The bookstore is insanely huge. Over stimulation all the way.

Al, where is "Your Best Life Now"? Can't believe that didn't make the cut.

Standing in line is fun.

These two jokers are pumped about the conference. I personally think they look like a couple of muppets.

Sweet hotel.

Band of Bloggers session was cool. Good insights about blogging.

The main sessions have been great. I won't have many pictures of them since we not supposed to take pictures.

Looks like a basketball game to me.

The downtown Louisville foodcourt got rocked. These poor people have never seen so many khakis and golf shirts in their lives. Like my buddy Carlos said, when 5000 pastor's descend on one place "it's like Eddie Bauer threw up around here". Well said.

T4G

I am heading out today with the rest of our staff and elder for the Together For The Gospel conference in Louisville. If you are a reader and will be there, please come and say hi if you get a chance. I'm the the tall, skinny, balding guy with red hair.

I hope to post some reflections on the conference while I am there. Stay tuned.
