...most churches and pastors have no idea what to do with men who are not motivated by a weepy worship dude(ish) singing prom songs to a Jesus who is presented as a wuss who took a beating and spent a lot of time putting product in his long hair.I am glad that I have short hair or Mark might come and find me and beat me up.

That of course might be a little too much of a generalization. I find that it is also true that most pastors don't know what to do with men who don't relate to sports being used as the analogy for whatever biblical topic is being thrown from the pulpit.
Perhaps Mr. Driscoll doesn't know what to do with men who read that quote and go "what a dumb generalization!!"
I also want to point out that Jesus prom songs could be called the case in just about every era of worship (or hymn) music for that matter... long before the emo-wannabe worship leaders came onto the scene.
The forefathers and mothers like Michael Card, Michael W. Smith, Rich Mullins, Amy Grant, Sandi Patti, Keith Green, etc have have had plenty of their own prom moments.
I'd even say that people such as Fanny Crosby or the brothers Wesley also had moments like that.
In the words of the good Dr. Z... "That is just plain whack!"
I could go on and on... but I won't... because I have to go tend to my hair care products. It is a windy day outside and I don't want to have a hair crisis!!!

I like it. Generalization or not.
What exactly is he trying to accomplish with the statement. I mean, other than making him self look cooler than the people he's bashing?
