Dude, I like the Kellers/Pipers/Alcorns thoughts on this.... "We should stop asking what % do we give? and start asking: What percentage dare we keep?" I think the NT implies a joyful, life simplifying, free, radically generous response to the gospel, coupled with an intentional stewardship mentality towards the money we spend on ourselves. God help us!

These dudes would also challenge us that 10% is an implied minimum in the NT. See Luke 11:42.
Obviously not a legal minimum (free in Christ:), but a goal.
