Matthew West - Motions

Matthew West has just released a new song on his myspace page from his new record which will be coming out mid January. It's called Motions and I really like it. He writes on his blog about it:

The first song I’m posting from the new album (besides “You Are Everything”) is a song called, “The Motions.” This song has really become a soundtrack for what I’ve been through in recent months with my surgery and recovery. The first lines of the song rang so true:

This might hurt

It’s not safe

But I know that I’ve gotta make a change

I don’t care if I break

At least I’ll be feeling something

Trials force movement. Pain makes you feel. Losing my voice, facing surgery and silence, and the uncertainty of my future did that for me. God used this experience in my life to pull me out of the typical ‘Christian’ life of going through “the motions.”

I hope this song will encourage people to live life to the fullest, filled with a Passion for God that is greater than any passion in life.
