People do actually believe these "scientific studies." Just look at how many nations have strong restrictions on spanking, or outlaw it completely (I believe Canada is already there, or close to it).
This is a prime example of why I do not want others legislating my morals. I know what you are saying with respect to Romans 13, and 100% agree with your point, but enforcing common civility is not the same as telling us how to run our households.
