I think my camera man was taking drugs during the first part of this filming, but that's cool, the content is there to be heard and understood. In terms of drugs, I guess my guitar player here likes drugs, acid at least (you'll have to watch the video).
In light of Tim and his wildness... click here to see Tim (the guitar player here) on the new Toby Mac DVD. It looks pretty amazing. Tim told me that the guys in Toby's band have been razzing him because it really should be called the, "Tim Rocks As a Guitar Player" DVD. Needless to say, he gets plenty of face time.

hey man, still really enjoying these vids. is it cool to call them vids?
question: this is great how you guys are fleshing this out. however, I don't have musicians that have played for years together, much less musicians that have played for years. when you have an hour, maybe two, of rehearsal, how do you "let them find their sound," and still get accomplished what you need to get accomplished in order to be ready for Sunday morning?
Stephen,
Great question. Just so you know this is the first time I had ever played collectively with all three of these guys.
In terms of "finding their sound", I think if they are less experienced you might need to really help them define what the right "sound" is. If they can't get it, they might not be ready to be up front yet. I think it's ok to tell people that they need to pursue some more instruction before they are ready to lead. This serves them more and serves your people more in the end.
I sometimes meet with guys before rehearsal to make sure they are ready to rehearse and not take a ton of time hashing stuff then that shouldn't be hashed. Does that make sense?
Let me know if there is unclear or if you have any other questions. Thanks for coming around the blog!
