It's been a brutal Olympics for Chinese Christians

If we American Christians claim to love our persecuted brothers and sisters in the church world-wide, then we must be seriously, thoughtfully praying for them on a daily basis.

Sadly, I am not currently the greatest example in this area. I do pray for the suffering family of God across the world, but not nearly as much as I should, for the love that I claim to have. In that sense, for me, this post was both a rebuke and a reminder. Love shows itself ultimately in actions, and praying is definitely one of those actions.

The comments section below the article in the newspaper actually stunned me. I know that the world hates Christians. I know that sometimes, we play a role in their hatred by not showing Christian love and humility to them as we should. We can also be too much *like* the world and end up hypocritcally blending in, when we should stand out in winsome, infectious "saltiness." However, the venom toward Christians, in some of the comments following the article, is remarkable.

Only the grace of a sovereign God can overcome such hatred. May He use us as instruments of His grace, reaching out in genuine love to those who hate God and hate us! May we remember that we *all* once hated God as they now do!
