Driscoll Pays Tribute to Piper

Mark Driscoll writes a very encouraging tribute to John Piper. I'm sure many people in my circles are sick of hearing about John Piper. It can smack of hero worship, but nonetheless I think John Piper is a uniquely gifted man of God, thus I would commend Driscoll's words to you to consider. It was very encouraging to me.

John Piper is most certainly one of the great Calvinist thinkers/pastors/theologians of our time. The hero worship is a little unnerving at times but being an N.T. Wright admirer myself, I understand the tendency.

I would love to see a friendly debate between Piper and Wright. Would be fun. Thinkers don't do much of that face to face stuff (alaChesterton/Shaw) anymore...

When I saw your blog title for this entry, I seriously first thought of trumpeter Phil Driscoll paying some sort of musical tribute to some Celtic Piper and was like . . . "HUH?" Sometimes my brain works in really strange ways!!
