Into The Wild

Have you seen Into The Wild? My wife and I watched it for the first time last night. (I know we are behind, but we rarely go to movies in the theater). It certainly is depressing, but pointed me to two great themes: 1)Our great need for relationships with others and 2) The power of God's creation and the importance of experiencing it. It made me love the gospel more. I highly recommend it.

If you have seen it, what did you think?

I've read the book by John Krakauer and seen the movie. Both were very good (book better). Have you ever read "Under the Banner of Heaven" by Krakauer?

I have also seen and read the book. I read the book first and was glad that I did. Book is much better, but the movie is very good.

My fantasy football team is very good as well.

I really enjoyed the story of this film and then read the Krakauer article the day later. It is a strange story in a way as the decisions he made seemed so naive, but equally there is something quite captivating about the journey itself. Something I dont think the movie references is the fact that just around the corner from where he tried to cross the river unsucessfully was a fully operational winch bridge which he would have seen had he taken a basic map with him.
