Blogs You May Not Have Heard Of But Might Want To Check Out In 2009

Christ Is Deeper Still - Dr. Ortlund is an OT scholar (he wrote the notes on Isaiah for the ESV Study Bible) but recently returned to the pastorate in Nashville, TN. His blog reflects the heart of a man who loves the gospel, loves the church and loves people. I have been greatly edified by it in recent days. You can also subscribe to the podcast of his preaching here. Dr. Ortlund will also be speaking at our church's Clarus conference in May. You can read about that here.

Life Together - Doug is a friend from college who currently serves as a pastor to children at a church in Louisville. His blog brings much insight to the areas of church ministry, parenting, marriage and anything else that he deems significant. You will enjoy his posts.

Of First Importance - This blog provides a daily quote that will remind you of Christian truths that are of first importance.

Creation Project - This blog is described by it's author, Jonathan Dodson, as follows:
I invite you to join me a search for understanding and redemption, of peoples and cultures, because of the promise of a better ending to this project than beginning, because of the new creation hope offered to all who seek the Creator.
I am a recent follower of this blog and have greatly enjoyed it thus far.

The ABBA Fund Blog - The ABBA fund exists to help people finance adoption and also to come alongside the church to help local churches think through how to establish and administrate an adoption fund for their people. I have gotten to know the author of this blog, Jason Kovacs, through the process of our recent adoption and was very impressed with his grace filled, gospel-centered tone. This blog will help you consider adoption, but also gain a greater heart for the God-ordained pursuit of justice in the world.

Forward Progress - Michael Kelley, the author of this blog, is wise beyond his years. He was the college pastor at the church we attended in Nashville, TN and his preaching was a consistent source of blessing. He funnels this gifting into his blog which will challenge you to think better and deeper about the Christian life.
