Click here to listen to U2's new single. My sense is that many people will be left scratching their heads on this one. It's certainly a departure from, "Beautiful Day" artistically speaking. Give it a listen and then let me know what you think. I dig the production quite a bit, but the melody seems a bit awkward.

Hmm, it is a bit odd. I don't like it as much as some of their other stuff.
I really like the music, but the vocal leaves much to be desired. I'm glad to see they are trying something different though.
I'm not blown away, but hearing this makes me want to hear the album. A lot.
In the opening seconds, my first reaction was, this is "Wild, Wild, West" by Escape Club.
Hmm... I actually really like the vocal. Bono's voice doesn't sound scratchy at all, as it has on their last two CDs. Somehow, the song, as a whole, feels like it's missing something though. Maybe it will be a grower for me. I didn't like Achtung Baby very much, as an overall work, when I first heard it. Now, it is my second favorite of all of their albums (behind The Joshua Tree).
I really like it. I don't know why.
I love U2. But this....not so much. I'm looking forward to hearing the rest, but if this is an indication of what it's like, I'll probably sit this one out.
I think they mistakenly put in the new King's X cd. This sounds just like em. Uncanny!
I like it..reminds me of "Achtung baby" or "under the blood red sky". Of course, U2 is my favorite band of all time, so don't mind me. ;)
