Socialism, Capitalism and the Bible

The ever polemical, Doug Groothuis recommends:
In light of the trashing of capitalism of late, and the sad, bad, and mad move toward socialism, I suggest you read this speech by the late Christian philosopher, Ronald Nash on "Socialism, Capitalism, and the Bible."

I am "every polemical?" Not really. The blog has humor, simple links, apologetics and so on. However, I do say what I think is true and important. I let Nash give the argument; I merely introduced it.

Dr. Groothuis,

Please don't take offense. I love your polemics!

It seems awfully reductionist. For contrast, take a look at Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn's "A World Split Apart," his famous commencement speech at Harvard in 1978. Solzhenitsyn has the benefit of having suffered through the ills of Russian Communism and lived in exile in Western Capitalism

un reigned capitalism is a canibal, there is no problem with a little socialism as long as it does not become communism which simply gives no one reason to do a job that is less than fully enjoyable.
