15 Years Ago Tonight

15 years ago tonight the Rwandan genocide began. 100 days and around 800,000 people. Imagine filling you average mid-level college basketball area and killing that many people for 100 days in a row... with machetes. May we shudder at the depth of human wickedness and the tremendous need for the gospel.

Walt Mueller has a good reflection here for you to consider.

I would recommend watching the documentary, The Ghosts of Rwanda.

Thank you for posting this. Our wickedness is beyond compare. This is a great reminder during Holy Week that our only hope to end such atrocities rests in the finished work of the Son of God. (BTW, you may want correct a typo "shudder" not "shutter").

A friend of ours was involved directly in this genocide and works diligently to bring reconciliation to the area. I thought you might like to see Celestin Musekura and hear first hand what it was like to be there and what has happened since. God has done great things...
