If you live in the Albuquerque area and are interested in an alternative model of education for your kids, you might want to attend the Oak Grove Classical Academy informational meeting tomorrow night at Desert Springs Church.

Here are the details:

Thursday, April 2nd
Desert Springs Church
705 Osuna Rd. NE
Albuquerque, NM
6:30 PM - 8:30 PM

A description of the school:
Oak Grove Classical Academy is a Classical, Christ-Centered, University-Model School® offering classes for the 2009-2010 school year for Kindergarten through 4th grade students in the Albuquerque area. The vision of Oak Grove is to create a school where God is glorified, parents are central, character is valued, education is the means and excellence is the standard. The first of its kind in New Mexico, Oak Grove combines the best of private and home school options by meeting for classes on Tuesday and Thursday of each week. Parents co-teach at home in the “satellite classroom” on Wednesday and Friday with lesson plans provided by the classroom teacher. We opened our doors August 2008 and our plan consists of adding one grade per academic year through grade 12.
If you would like to hear what Oak Grove is all about you can listen to an interview with the headmaster, Troy Simons, by clicking here (or download by saving). (The interview starts at about 27 mins. in)
