I agree with Gregory Boyd here. Linking God particularly to America in this way is idolatrous. Yes, God is sovereign over every event in American history, working all things for His glory and the good of His people.
However, He is equally sovereign over every event in the history of *every* country, working all things for His glory and the good of His people-- as His people are found all over the world, in every tongue, tribe, and nation. God is not American. He is not Asian. He is not European. He is GOD.
All of the above being the case, Gregory Boyd is an open thiest. His God doesn't exhustively know the future. His God certainly doesn't *control* the future, as God cannot control what he does not know. Boyd's God also seems dangerously close to being an idol, rather than the all-knowing, all-powerful God of the Bible.
i was concerned when i first saw the advertisements for it and it looks like my concerns are well founded. Nationalism and Christianity are a terrible mix.

open *theist,* that is
*exhaustively,* not "exhustively"... I need to proofread my comments more carefully!
