Congrats to the Lakers on the championship. Thus begins the summer dead-zone for sports. I loathe baseball. No basketball, no football = less time watching sports on TV and more reading. It's probably a good thing.
September 10th is the first NFL game. It can't come quick enough.

I was discussing this exact sadness with my wife the other night, though I was lamenting the end of the Stanley Cup playoffs as well. She didn't find the situation nearly as depressing as I do. :)
The summer sports doldrum is so bad that we'll be getting giddy in August watching NFL preseason games full of guys who won't even make the team. So yes, come on September.
D.J.,
Thanks for adding hockey to Z's list.

I literally JUST thought that.
Not so fast, my friend. This weekend is a trifecta for me: Father's Day, US Open, and College World Series. Admittedly, I lean on PGA Golf and a little Tennis to get me through College Football Kick-off (3 Sep).
I couldn't agree with you more Zach. Baseball is so boring during the summer, and with no NBA & NFL on, I pretty much get rid of cable till September. It's summer time which means...it's time to go grab a Christian biography and immerse myself in that persons life for several weeks. ;)
