"Take Five" Turns 50

Steven Wagner:
This short piece from NPR's All Things Considered is well worth a listen, especially if you want to understand one of the things that can make music really interesting: an asymmetrical meter. Jazz great Dave Brubeck reflects on "Take Five," an influential piece with a double entendre title. His quartet created it and found themselves at the top of the pop charts in 1959.

Two old Jazz LPs never get old to me: "Time Out" (which is the name of the album on which "Take Five" is on) and Miles Davis's "Kind of Blue." Who knows how many times I've listened to them. Great stuff.
