Using the movie, Gran Torino as a springboard, David Swanson, writing for Out of Ur, has a compelling piece about what he calls, "urban exile", the trend among many church leaders to leave the church of the city and move the church out to the suburbs. This is not a "bash the suburbs" piece, but rather a challenge to forsake the safety of wealth, homogeneity, and stability.
