Heading Back To The Motherland Today

Today my family and I embark on a 10 day trip covering 4 states in the Midwest. Fly to Omaha, drive around Iowa various places, then up to southern Minnesota, over to Sioux Falls, South Dakota and then finally back down to Omaha, Nebraska to return to Albuquerque. We'll be seeing all three of our families. Should be a wild time. Four kids, six and under on a plane and then the mini-van tour begins.

Saturday I participate in the Hudson, IA, "Pump and Run". Here is how it works: You bench press your weight as many times as you can. For every repetition you decrease 15 secs from your 5K time. I did this 5 years ago and had a great time. I have been training pretty hard these days, but am not quite where I was at back then. I am hoping my training elevation (5000 ft) will give me a great advantage running the actual race (500 ft) in Iowa. We'll see.

Blogging may we light over the next ten days. Hope you are having a great summer.
