Oftentimes a young husband will lament the hardships that marriage can bring as conflict surely arises. He might be tempted to say, “I feel like I am dying here! He fails to recognize that this is what he signed up for when he got married (Eph. 5:25-32). Godly husbands know the symbolic pain of the nails in his hands and feet as he literally lays down his life so that his wife might flourish in all of life.
