Banging Your Head Against The Financial Wall

So today I got an automated phone message from our bank in Albuquerque that said that we had some serious overdraft issues.

Not good.

We thought we had closed our account in Albuquerque before we moved up here to Madison, WI but it turns out there were some checks that we wrote that we had not anticipated and they bounced.  And bounced high into the air they did.  When they returned to the earth they had a huge amount of fees attached to them.  Imagine that.  Bleh.  $167 in fees to be precise.

Not the best way to start the day.

This verse is for me to memorize and meditate upon today and it would probably do you some good as well:
1 Tim. 6:17 - As for the rich in this present age charge them not to be haughty, nor to set their hopes on the uncertainty of riches but on God, who richly provides us with everything to enjoy.

Plead for mercy from your bank and those to whom you wrote the checks! I used to work for a bank and those fees are nearly all profit. Maybe they'll forgive them or at least bring down the amount...
