Being Consistent With The Logic of Abortion

Does traveling six inches down the birth canal really change the ontological status of a person?  Said less philosophically, does a fetus' status really change from not a baby to a baby once it leaves the uterus of the mother by traveling a mere six inches?  Does where you are define who you are?

Seems that this doctor understood the logical implications of abortion.  If it can be killed in the womb at any stage is it really that big of a deal to kill it seconds after it leaves the uterus and still unwanted?  Does the status of the child REALLY change in the few seconds that it travels a few inches to a new location outside the womb?  Why not just kill it quick?  It's basically the same thing right?  How could a mere six inches make that much difference?

Sadly, his understanding of life led him to murder. Ours should lead us to protection.  May it be so!

Some of the 'most influential' atheists don't seem to think being born gives personhood: http://www.uncommondescent.com/intelligent-design/newborn-babies-not-persons-and-not-fully-human-p-z-myers/

Great analysis. I'm praying that the news of this horrific incident will cause those who consider themselves pro-choice to recognize the flawed logic undergirding their views and help them to see the inherent worth of every human life.
