Zach, the link to the graph is broken, but I can imagine by your comments what it must show, so I'll comment on that imagination.
Right off the top of my head, I know 3 adult families that live with parents, including CJ Mahaney and his wife who bought a house with one of his adult daughters and her husband. (The story is here.
Another family I know personally have two children with disabilities (one was adopted from Mexico) that live with his parents and a grandmother in a large home. His parents had the space, living with them meant his wife could stay home with the children and she was available to help with the grandmother, and there are layers of generational support that I believe are manifestations of the grace of God.
If I was not aware of these situations (and others), it would probably be easy for me to be critical of this trend, but it just might be the best economical, social, relational thing to do in these stressful economic times.

It's really a 3-4% shift and my guess is foreclosures, bankruptcies, upside-down mortgages.
Housing boom. Housing crash. That's all.
