1. squishy middle or mushy middle - Stetzer and Keller should work it out. :)
2. I worry about the emphasis on a "conversion experience." What about the child who grew up knowing Jesus and doesn't recall a time when he didn't believe? John the Baptist - filled with Holy Ghost prenatally.
Sara, Regarding your #2
Jesus said, You must be born again. (John 3:6-8.)
So what part of that don't you understand?
Additionally, John was an exception, not the rule. So follow the "rule" and not the "exception."
Steve,
Just a friendly thought that a little more grace would go a long way in addressing others, rather than a condescending "what part of that don't you understand?"
Additionally, while I think a conversion experience is important, the text you cited in no way answered her question, since it speaks to the objective reality (conversion), and not the subjective experience of that reality (conversion experience.
Anonymous, When you come out from behind your anonymity, then what you stated will be given all the consideration it is due. But until then only this - The Scripture quoted speaks to the totality of both objective and subjective conversion. So what part of that don't you understand?
