Prince at Halftime

Ok, so we all know that Prince is a freak. I say he is a freak on the guitar. He is crazy good and I thought that last night's Super Bowl halftime was one of the best ever. Prince playing the classics in the pouring rain (or what is purple rain?) was pretty cool. Your take?

A few questions:

1. How old is that guy? At our party we were saying that he had to be at least 50, and if that is the case then he has to have had some work done. He looks like he is 25 still.

2. Dude is small, how tall is he? 5'2"?

3. What is up with the Foo Fighters cover? I think the Foo Fighters are one of the best rock bands ever, but it was pretty unexpected and seemed a bit out of place. Where did that one come from?

4. How does all that heavy gear that they use for the halftime show not completely mangle the field, especially when it's raining hard like that?

My comment on the game: Rex needs to put his house on the market. Chi Town ain't down with Rex after that game he played. He completely lived up to all the negative hype. It was tough to watch.

Z-man...

I totally agree.. Prince rocked the house. I was halfway expecting him to be "not into it" and such because of the rain, but the boy ripped it out and delivered.

I have a new found respect for him... he came out and did his job even under not ideal circumstances (plus he had some wicked cool guitar tones).

Do you know if prince's halftime show is online anyplace? I am a big fan of his music, but not as much of his lyrics.

maybe the foo cover had something to do with the cover of "little nicky" that foo fighters did?

You're missing the point. I doubt Prince was paying homage to the Foo, but rather it was a big F you. He doesn't like anyone covering his songs, period. The Foo did "Darling Nikki" in 2003 but Prince wouldn't let them release it in the States. Prince has repeatedly refused Weird Al's requests to let him parody his songs. And don't forget that he hated Sinead O'Connor's version of "Nothing Compares 2 U".

BTW, you can find the performance on YouTube.
