Ladies, I Want To Hear From You

As most of you ladies know Valentine's Day is right around the corner and some of us men are a bit challenged when it comes to creativity for special holidays like Valentine's Day. So use this post to help us out. Here is what we need:

1. Describe one of the best V-Day's you ever had. What did your man do to make it really special for you? Or...

2. Just tell us something that would make you feel really special this V-Day that perhaps your husband has never done, that you would like him to do. (Maybe he reads this blog and will get the not so subtle hint!)

I know one could say that we men should be an ever flowing fount of romantic creativity and be able to figure this stuff out on his own, but sadly most of us aren't and won't. If you had to pick wouldn't you rather just know that your man is humble, teachable and actually listening to what you have to say?

So here is your chance. Help us out! Guys, get pen and paper handy...

Michael has done a lot of meaningful and romantic things throughout our marriage. My favorite is when he wrote and bound a book describing why he loves me based on the Wife of Noble Character verses from Proverbs. It was so kind because he went into great detail about things that I didn't even know he ever noticed about me. I still go back and read it from time to time. It continues to be encouraging to me.

How about that? Hardly any money spent and no flowers or candy. OK by me!

The first valentines we were together George cut out 25 hearts, wrote on each one a quality that he loved about me, and put them up on the wall. I arrived home to find all these hanging everywhere along with flowers.

Often he has pulled me into a room with music going off of iTunes, to sing to me and dance around the room with me.

Also he will make up cute fairy tales inspired by our real-life relationship and tell them to me.

There was also a time when he set up a relaxing time for me: drew me a bubble bath, lit floating candles, and had a bowl of strawberries, cream cheese frosting, and Godiva chocolate squares for me to enjoy.

Have I mentioned how wonderful and creative my husband is?

Zack, isn't it a little frustrating that with around 800 subscribers, you get 3 responses to your question?

Come on people! We need some help!

To those who did respond, thanks for the ideas. (Especially the hearts idea!)

Here's all I have to add:

I'm sending my wife to the spa for the afternoon. It's expensive and we can only afford it because of our tax return, but I think that even though we live a lifestyle of tight stewardship of the resources God has entrusted to us, it's still important to occasionally demonstrate to my wife that she's worth every penny I could ever spend on her!

early in our marriage, carlos invented the 14 days of valentine--wherein the first 14 days of February I receive a card, candy or small gift. we've been married for almost 15 years and I still love the 14 days of valentine. :)
