For some reason I saw the title of this blog and saw the picture and chuckled heartily.

It is the equivalent of seeing the title:

"Vow of Poverty" and seeing Joel Osteen's pic.

But I shouldn't judge. Just joshin'.

Nope. I was sure I wouldn't have been able to be nearly as smart-arsed if I had. In fact, I was just about to right now!

Watching...

Good stuff. Funny too.

As point of discussion, I always feel like the simplest path to humility is a sense of true thankfulness.

Those that can take a compliment and be thankful show much more humility than those that are constantly diverting the praise. Humility can only come when there is no thought of it, and that means any attempt to BE humble as Mark is saying.

Then of course the question arises, "well, how does one get to humility?" My only answer has been being thankful to God or all things in an acknowledgment that He has showered us with good things as well as allowing us times of suffering. A humble man is one who in all things can say, "Blessed be Your Name." (cue music... kick drum... guitar... I-V-vi-IV)

What moving here has shown me is that I can incredibly prideful during rough times just as easily as when things are great.

Seth,

Thanks for the interlude of praise in your comment. Sometimes you just gotsta get yur praise on, ya know?

In all seriousness, I think you are right about thankfulness. People who are thankful implicitly know their need, or else they would have nothing to be thankful for!
