I think Trueman is only looking at the glass as being half-full here. True, you can skip town in your car when you've made a mistake BUT you can also skip town when the church is in flagrant error. What if the only church within walking distance preaches a different gospel than the true gospel? What if the only church within walking distance is sinking in liberalism? Then ought we not to thank God for a car which can get us to a good church on the other side of town?
